It is estimated that more than 80 million people in North America snore while sleeping. Disrupted sleep cycles for you and your family can lead to tension and animosity. Snoring studies have recently discovered that snoring can even be fatal by increasing your blood pressure. This can damage the carotid arteries and increase the risk of strokes. Fortunately, we now have safe, comfortable snore prevention devices that can alleviate these problems.

What causes snoring?

The muscles and soft tissues in your throat and mouth relax during sleep, making the breathing airway smaller. The decreased airway space increases the velocity of air flowing through the smaller airway. The increased air flow causes soft tissues like the soft palate and the uvula to vibrate. These vibrations are what we commonly know as "noisy breathing" and "snoring".

Relaxed and collapsed airway produces soft tissue vibrations during breathing which result in snoring. Sleeping devices prevent snoring by opening the airway and making breathing easier.

How do snoring devices work?Snoring device

Snoring devices work by moving the lower jaw into a forward position, thus increasing the three dimensional space in the airway tube and reducing the air velocity and soft tissue vibration. Clinical studies have concluded that these devices have a success rate of between 70% to 100% compared to a success rate of 20% to 40% for the traditional surgical techniques!
